Plant Breeding Technologies V
(February 22-23, 2021)
Welcome to the 5th International Conference “Plant Breeding Technologies”!
Modern Plant Breeding is important factor for ensuring food security by developing new varieties that are higher-yielding, resistant to pests and diseases, drought-resistant or regionally adapted to different environments and growing conditions. Advances in Genetics and Genomics, Molecular Mapping and Map Based Cloning, Genomic Selection, Genome Editing and Engineering, Molecular biology, DNA sequencing and Information Technologies have transformed our ability to track genetic variation and plant performance, making the process of plant breeding radically faster and cheaper than ever before. New, innovative and robust technologies are emerging very fast making plant breeding a high tech discipline.
The 5th International Conference “Plant Breeding Technologies” to be held on September 22 -23, 2021, in Vienna, Austria will bring together academy and industry to highlight and evaluate modern Plant Breeding Tools and Technologies, define perspectives and establish strong bridge between academy and industry and multilateral collaborations.
Vienna is located in the heart of Europe on the banks of the Danube River, and considered as one of the most important economic, cultural and beautiful touristic large cities of central Europe. Apart from providing top science, the Conference will capture the spirit of the city thanks to the central location of the venue offering a multitude of cultural events.
This two-day event will provide leading academy and industry scientists a platform to communicate recent advances in Plant Breeding Technologies, and an opportunity to establish multilateral collaboration.
The 5th International Conference “Plant Breeding: from Theory to Practice” will cover the following research topics:
- Plant Genetic Resources & Natural Diversity
- Plant Mutagenesis
- Plant “OMICS”
- Plant Genome Sequencing & Bioinformatics
- Genetic & Molecular Markers,
- Molecular & Genetic Mapping
- Map Based Cloning & Selection
- Genomic Selection & Molecular Breeding
- Breeding for QTL & Useful Traits
- Plant Genome Editing & Engineering
- CRISPR in Plant Breeding
- Biotechnology in Plant Breeding
The list of invited speakers has yet to be confirmed.
Approximately 350 participants are expected to attend this exciting scientific forum including almost 40 lectures delivered by worldwide known invited speakers and young, talented speakers selected from submitted abstracts. The program combines plenary lectures, poster sessions, a unique Conference Dinner Party and sightseeing tours of Vienna.
Deadline for submission of abstracts is October 1, 2020
Early bird registration: October 20, 2020
Please note: The next VISCEA Conference “Plant Cell & Tissues In Vitro IV” will take place immediately after “Plant Breeding Technologies“ Conference on February 24-25, 2021 at the same location! We are pleased to offer you the chance to participate and register online for both at once for a very attractive registration fee!
We are looking forward to seeing you in Vienna on February 22-23, 2021!

The title of the Abstract, corresponding author information and Abstract text should be entered into the corresponding fields, indicated below.
Abstracts may only be submitted in the English language.
a) The title of the abstract.
b) The name and address of the corresponding author, to whom correspondence will be sent.
b) Names and complete addresses of all authors.
c) Abstract body.
