Plant Abiotic Stress Tolerance V
(July 5-6, 2018, Vienna, Austria)

Welcome to the 5th International Conference “Plant Abiotic Stress Tolerance”!

Abiotic stresses, defined as the negative impact of non-living factors on the living organisms in a specific environment are the primary causes of crop loss worldwide. Abiotic stresses include high and low temperatures, salinity, drought, flooding, heavy metal stress and many other environmental factors. Plant tolerance to these stresses is dependent on the molecular networks involved in stress perception, signaling, and the expression of specific stress-related genes and metabolites.

The 5th International Conference “Plant Abiotic Stress Tolerance” to be held on July 5-6, 2018, in Vienna, Austria will discuss the most recent advances in understanding and combating plant abiotic stress and tolerance mechanisms and to define new frontiers in this field.

Vienna is located in the heart of Europe on the banks of the Danube River, and considered as one of the most important economic, cultural and touristic large cities of central Europe. Apart from providing top science, the Conference will capture the spirit of the city thanks to the central location of the venue offering a multitude of cultural events.

This two-day event will provide leading academy and industry scientists a platform to communicate recent advances in “Plant Abiotic Stress Tolerance”, and an opportunity to establish multilateral collaboration.

The 5th International Conference “Plant Abiotic Stress Tolerance” will cover the following research topics:

  • Plant Response to Cold, Heat & Freezing Stress
  • Plant Response to Drought, Salt & Osmotic Stresses
  • Plant Response to Flooding Stress
  • Plant Response to Oxidative Stresses
  • Plant Response to Nutrient Stresses
  • Signaling in Abiotic Stress Tolerance
  • Chromatin & Epigenetics of Abiotic Stress Tolerance
  • Biotechnology of Abiotic Stress Tolerance

Among the invited speakers are internationally known names such as*:
Claudia Jonak (Austria), Heribert Hirt (Saudi Arabia), Sonia Gazzarrini (Canada), Jian Xu (Singapore), Frank van Breusegem (Belgium), Luis Herrera Estrella (Mexico), Katayoon Dehesh (USA), Isabel Baeuerle (Germany), Philip Wigge (UK), Matthew J Paul (UK) and others.
*The list of invited speakers has yet to be confirmed.

Approximately 350 participants are expected to attend this exciting scientific forum including almost 40 lectures delivered by worldwide known invited speakers and young, talented speakers selected from submitted abstracts. The program combines plenary lectures, poster sessions, a unique Conference Dinner Party and sightseeing tours of Vienna.

Early Bird Registration Deadline is April 15, 2018.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Vienna on July 5-6, 2018!
